Width is the first real decision, and it constrains everything after it — oven configuration, colour availability, kitchen layout and delivery access. Here is what each width actually gives you.

90cm — the default, and usually the right one

90cm is the most common range cooker width in UK kitchens because it fits the standard renovation scenario: the space a 60cm cooker plus one base unit occupied. That makes it the width least likely to force a kitchen redesign.

You get two oven cavities and a six-burner or four-zone hob. For a household of four to six, cooking normally, that is genuinely enough. The extra widths buy capability you may not use.

90cm is also the only width where the Air-Tec vented models are available — the ones with extraction built in, so no hood is needed. If you're planning an island or an open-plan kitchen, that constraint may make the width decision for you.

100cm — the widest choice, and the XG threshold

100cm is where the range opens up: 26 models, both fuel types, both oven configurations, all seven colours.

The reason to step up from 90cm isn't really the 10cm of hob — though burner spacing does improve noticeably. It's that 100cm is the narrowest width offering the XG configuration: a third cavity plus an extra-large main oven.

110cm — maximum oven capacity

Every model at 110cm is XG: three cavities, extra-large main oven, full-width hob. There is no twin oven option, which is why the entry price is £5,599.

This is the width for people who cook for a crowd regularly and want to run a roast, a second dish and a grill simultaneously without compromise.

Counter-intuitively, 110cm gives you more oven capacity than 120cm does, because at 120cm Bertazzoni returns to a twin oven layout and puts the extra width into hob space. If ovens are your priority, stop at 110cm and save money.

120cm — hob space and presence

What you're buying is hob real estate and the visual weight of a genuinely large cooker. If you routinely run four or five big pans at once, the spacing at 120cm is transformative. If you don't, you're paying for presence — which is a legitimate thing to buy, but worth naming honestly.

Note there is no induction option at 120cm. The widest all-electric Bertazzoni is 110cm.

Measuring properly

The aperture is not the cooker width. You need the manufacturer's stated aperture, which allows tolerance for the body, the levelling feet and the ability to pull the cooker out. Get the exact figure from the specification sheet before cabinetry is cut — ask us and we'll pull it for your model rather than guessing.

Check side clearances to adjacent combustible surfaces. For gas models this is a safety requirement, not a preference.

Check depth including handle projection, and what's on the back wall — skirting, pipework, sockets all push the cooker forward.

The honest recommendation

Most people should buy 90cm and spend the difference on the colour they actually want or on a proper installation.

People who genuinely cook for eight or more on a regular basis should buy 100cm XG or 110cm, and will use every bit of it.

Almost nobody needs 120cm, and the people who do already know it.
