Bertazzoni PRO106L3EROT — 100cm XG triple oven dual fuel range cooker in red, £5,399. A brass-burner gas hob with three electric oven cavities, including Bertazzoni's extra-large XG main oven.
The XG decision
This is the choice that matters at 100cm. The twin oven version (PRO106L2EROT) is £4,699. This XG model adds a third cavity and an extra-large main oven for £700 more.
It earns that if you cook multiple dishes at different temperatures regularly, or if your roasting tins don't fit a standard oven. If you mostly cook for four to six and use one oven at a time, take the twin — the third cavity otherwise becomes a baking tray drawer.
The hob
Brass gas burners including a dual-ring power burner that moves from a genuine low simmer to full searing output. A thermocouple safety device allows gas to flow only when a flame is present.
The ovens
Main electric oven with 11 functions and a digital programmer showing function, cooking time and real-time temperature. Auxiliary oven with four further modes. Third cavity with an adjustable grill — so you can roast, bake and grill at once without clearing a cavity.
The red finish
Rosso red is the classic Italian range cooker colour and the boldest in the Professional Series palette. At 100cm it's a strong statement without the sheer scale of a 110cm or 120cm — arguably the width where a bold colour is easiest to live with.
Making it work: let the cooker be the only strong colour in the room. Neutral cabinetry — off-white, pale grey, natural oak. Brass or warm metal handles pick up the gloss; cool chrome sits awkwardly beside it. Red is the colour people are most nervous about and least likely to regret.
Installation
Must be connected by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and also needs an electrical supply for the ovens. Confirm the gas connection position before the kitchen is fitted. Questions
Why £300 more than stainless? Colour finishes carry a £300 premium in this configuration. Stainless (PRO106L3EXT) is £5,099.
Will red date? Less than people fear — it reads as a deliberate decision rather than a trend. But colour is the hardest thing to change later.
Do I need an extractor hood? Yes, at least as wide as the cooker.
