Good garden lighting works at two moments: when the sun goes down and the garden comes alive, and long after, when nobody is looking and the pathway still guides the way. The Bollard does both. A clean aluminium column stands quietly in a border or at the edge of a path, throwing a wide 120° wash of warm 3000K light across gravel, lawn or planting. No hot spots, no shadows, just an even arc of illumination that reaches where the house lights cannot.
Three heights let you choose the right scale for the space, and because it is hardwired rather than solar, it comes on at full brightness in December the same as it does in June.
CHOOSING YOUR HEIGHT
Sits below planting height. Best for edging a path or steps where you want the light on the ground, not in the eyeline.
The all-rounder. Tall enough to clear low shrubs and throw light over a border, short enough to stay discreet.
For driveways, entrances and wider paths. Casts the broadest pool of light and reads as a designed feature in its own right.
Mixing heights along a route works well — taller units at the entrance stepping down to lower ones along the path.
BUILT FOR A BRITISH WINTER
Fully protected against dust and against water jetted from any direction — rain, sleet and hosepipes included.
Won't rust like steel or go brittle like plastic. The polycarbonate diffuser stands up to UV without yellowing.
No panel to keep clean, no battery to replace, no dim winter evenings when the sun hasn't charged it.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Is this solar powered?
No — it is mains powered and hardwired, which is the point of it. Solar path lights fade through autumn and winter exactly when you need them most. A hardwired bollard gives you the same 1,200 lumens on a wet January evening as it does in July.
What colour is the light?
A warm white 3000K — the same friendly tone as indoor living-room lighting, rather than the cold blue-white of security floodlights. It flatters planting, brickwork and gravel, and keeps the garden feeling like an extension of the house after dark.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. Outdoor mains wiring in the UK falls under Part P of the Building Regulations, so the supply should be installed by a qualified electrician using suitable armoured cable and RCD protection. The bollard itself is straightforward to mount once the supply is in place.
How far apart should I space them?
For an even run along a path, roughly 2 to 3 metres apart is the usual starting point — closer for a continuous ribbon of light, further apart if you want pools of light with darker gaps between. Taller units cast wider, so 90cm bollards can be spaced further than 30cm ones.
What does IP65 actually mean?
The 6 means completely sealed against dust. The 5 means protected against water jets from any direction — so heavy rain, wind-driven spray and a hosepipe are all fine. It is not rated for submersion, so don't site it anywhere that floods or pools.
Can I mount it on a wall?
No — this is a ground-mounted bollard designed to stand in a border, lawn or paved edge. It isn't designed for wall fixing.
Is there a bulb to replace?
No. The LED is integrated into the housing, which is what allows the IP65 seal, and it is rated for 50,000 hours — well over a decade of typical evening use.
