1. Water pressure: 2.5 bar minimum
This is the one that catches people out. These cabins need between 2.5 and 3.4 bar on both hot and cold. A combi boiler or an unvented cylinder usually delivers that. A gravity fed system with a tank in the loft usually does not, and will need a pump. Ask your plumber to measure the pressure at the bathroom before you order.
2. Electrics
The cabin needs a 13 amp electrical supply, installed by a qualified electrician to bathroom regulations. A steam session costs very little to run: the 3kW generator uses about 1 kWh, one unit on your bill, for a 20 minute steam.
3. Getting it in
Cabins arrive in 4 to 5 boxes, so they go through a normal doorway and up stairs. Assembly needs no drilling into the tray and no silicone, so the shower can be used as soon as it is built. The waste is a flexible 1 metre hose. Check the overall height on the product page against your ceiling.

Common questions
What is the smallest steam shower?
The 800 x 800mm quadrant. It fits the footprint of a standard corner shower tray.
Will a steam shower work with a gravity fed system?
Not on its own. The cabins need 2.5 bar minimum, so a gravity fed system normally needs a pump. Combi boilers and unvented cylinders are usually fine.
How much does a steam shower cost to run?
About 1 kWh for a 20 minute steam session, which is one unit of electricity at whatever rate you pay.
Do I need to tile behind a shower cabin?
No. The cabin has its own back walls, roof and sealed tray, so the room walls stay dry.
Can two people use a steam shower?
Yes, the 1400 x 900mm twin cabin is built for two, with twin valves so both showers run at once.
